INTRODUCTION

The 11th Asia-Pacific Transport Working Group Meeting (APTWG) will be held from 27 to 30 May, 2025 in Shenzhen, China. This meeting is a series of APTWG meetings, which started at NIFS Japan in 2011 and has been held every year 2011–2018 and every two years afterward in China, Korea, or Japan (Toki 2011, Chengdu 2012, Jeju-island 2013, Fukuoka 2014, Dalian 2015, Seoul 2016, Nagoya 2017, Leshan 2018, Kyushu University 2021 with online meeting, Seoul 2023).

OBJECTIVES

The goal of APTWG is a predictive understanding of the basic mechanisms responsible for particle, momentum and energy transport in magnetically confined plasmas, and ultimately, predicting and even controlling of the transport processes. The topics varied at every meeting, to focus on the urgent and essential issues regarding the underline physics of turbulence and transport in toroidal plasmas.

MEETING FORMAT

The meeting will consist of (a) special plenary sessions, (b) technical working group sessions, (c) poster sessions, (d) the young researchers’forum (YRF) and (e) summary sessions. The plenary sessions are devoted to discuss the various interesting issues in transport physics that have not been clarified yet. The purpose of the technical working group sessions is to discuss the problems that have not been clarified yet in the scope of each working group. The YRF is to encourage discussions and promote future collaborations among young researchers in a free-style meeting session. Poster sessions of 120 min are arranged after the oral sessions of each working group session. To promote idea exchange and continue discussion, all oral speakers in the plenary and working group sessions (1-5) except for overview (OV) speakers are requested to give a poster. Summary talks of each technical working group were given on the last day.
